This beautifully inlaid desk was most likely made near the border region of southern Massachusetts and northern Connecticut. The circa 1800, desk features quarter columns with string inlay; cut-corner string inlay on the fronts of the drawers, the bookcase doors, and the lid; as well as diamonds with floral and berry inlay on the bookcase doors. The desk is resting on a set of delicate splayed ogee feet. The brasses and finials are restored. The bottom 1.5” of the lid has been restored and there several other patches to the desk.
