This wonderful apothecary cupboard was found in Berks County, Pennsylvania and was made in the first half of the 19th century. The apothecary retains the original red painted surface. The top of the case and all of the drawers are dovetailed. Pennsylvania apothecary chests in this small size are rare and for the chest to survive without being refinished is even more of a rarity. The apothecary was missing a drawer and there was some damage to some of the drawer fronts when I purchased it. I had the drawer reconstructed to match the others and the drawer lips repaired.
