Demuth's Snuff Crock Lancaster PA

This is a good example of a Demuth Snuff crock. The front is stenciled "DEMUTH'S CELEBRATED SNUFF ESTABLISHED 1770 LANCASTER, PA". The crock was made by the firm of F. H. Cowden, located in Harrisburg, PA, and active from 1888 until 1904. The crock has no cracks or repairs however, there are some small chips and glaze wear around the top rim. H: 9.5", Diameter: 7".
